On helping people.

Imagine yourself walking down a busy street on a rainy day and you met a beggar who is lame pushing a plate he uses to collect donations on the muddy road covered in puddles and potholes. Would you have a change you could spare? Imagine Mother Teresa walking down that same busy street and she sees the same begger. Would she give him the same amount of change you could spare? Imagine the sister of that beggar who haven't seen her brother, because her brother realizing he isn't useful to her and that he was just leeching off his sister, went away to beg for his daily needs, seeing him. Would she not take him in to her house and bathe him and love him? Does charity make you feel good when you helped people living in a worser predicament than you? Are you a good human being if you helped someone to make yourself feel good? That beggar went out of his house with his dignity intact but everytime someone gave him money to feel good about themselves and post it on social media of ...

From dust to stardusts.

We were stardust once said Mother Crow to her nestlings high up a gulmohar tree in the park of a city suburbs. Mother Crow survived the first monsoon fending off city monkeys far bigger than she was from eating her eggs and she plans on surviving the rain and the storm and the hails and the gale. Mother Crow is a scavenger, she needed her inguenity and intelligence to survive in a human jungle.  She doted her children in a way humans doted theirs. She will die for them. She is a good mother. There is a road that leads to the park where office goers of the city commute every single day. It was hectic at rush hours where vehicles of all kinds swerved around in chaos bellowing up dust into the air covering up the leafs of trees in the park in brown. One of those tree was a cranky old mango tree who hated the gulmohar for taking away all his insects who protected his fruits from diseases and birds. There was a car that could speak named Debry. There was a boy who lived nea...

Flashbacks of a student and a kid in the 90's living in Curachandpur

I remebered my first day of school, how I cried and clung to the round pillars not wanting to enter the class because it was scary with all the other children crying and scary faces of the teachers who were strangers. My parents wanted me to have a proper education,an english medium school because they couldn't speak english. My father was a teacher when I was young and he knew the value of good education.I was never dropped by my parents on the second day of school because I have a younger sister and they expected me to look after myself, follow instructions of the teachers and preferably not get lost between the school gate and the auto,I was 3 years old.I remember the auto ride between the school and home,it was quiet dangerous for kids to sit on because autos have no protective wire mash or walls proctecting the kids from falling off but that was what made auto rides exciting. We would fight over who gets to sit on the sides of the driver because the kid who sits there has a work,h...

All about papercranes.

Here I write this words in remembrance of the things that happened and I smiled even though she will never be mine, she's the one that got away but the circumstances by which here I am, not sad, just happy is because she changed me, she changed me for the better. She’s a warm ray of sunshine, a free spirit in this tumultuous and constricting after-thoughts that haunt me to this very day and I cherish every words, every smile and every moment spent with her.  It was a college trip where we first met, on a bus as I was sitting listening to music to calm my nerves because we were travelling to a distant place and the road we were going to take was perilous with high cliffs and dangerous mudslides that usually occur usually at that time of year. She came in with a friend, fashionably late but just in time. The thing that caught my eye about her was her hairdo, which was a shawl wrapped around her head to keep her wild hair from flowing all over the place. I thought it was pretty low...

An open minded assessment of homosexuality in India and the north east

India is a land of religion where religious sentiments are guarded to an extent that the Government pass laws to protect and safguard these so called religious laws.Being a majority Hindu state, the politicians need to appease their vote bank in order to secure more votes in the next election. However sensitive the issue might be,they have been exploiting those issues to garner more votes and secure a solid footing in elections, that is if those issues appease a large number of people. But much of the important issues such as women rights and gender rights are swept aside in the background and these issues are rarely mentioned in the houses because they do not deem it as a pressing matter due to the lack of voters affected by those issues. For instance,India still have a law that is against homosexuality in the 21st century which shows that the law makers in this country are reluctant to change that law or thought of it as not a pressing matter just because there are...
